Dear Church Family,
We are excited to welcome you back to corporate worship on March 6, 2021 at 11:30 am!
In accordance to Illinois Phase IV Guidelines for Places of Worship: West Central will practice social distancing and limit the capacity of indoor space to 50 individuals. However, we cannot forget that COVID-19 continues to be a very real threat to our health. So, our precautions MUST be both realistic and scientific. Therefore, in this phase of our re-opening we have very specific guidelines that we will follow - without exception.
If you prefer to postpone your return to corporate worship until a future date, we understand and respect your decision. You are loved by West Central Seventh-day Adventist Church and may worship virtually via our YouTube live stream church service at
https://www.youtube.com/user/WestCentralSDAChurch
For those who plan to join us for in-person worship, the guidelines are as follows:
Most Vulnerable Members
Those members actively taking immuno-supressing medications, receiving cancer treatment, under medical orders to stay home, or having just completed a surgical procedure should postpone in-person worship and continue to worship virtually.
Cautious Members
If you have respiratory issues, diabetes, liver disease, are over 65, or need an extra level of protection we have a solution; However, you will need to notify us in advance of your attendance.
Here is what we can provide:
- Seating in the West Central Mothers’ Room (7 people only)
- You will be screened for an elevated temperature before entering
- You MUST wear a mask
- You MUST follow the physical distancing protocols
- You MUST enter the room at least 15-minutes before the service begins
- You MUST wait to exit the room 15-minutes after everyone else is dismissed
- You will have access to a private bathroom, hand sanitizer, a window through which to view the service, and full audio through the church sound system
Asymptomatic Members
All worshippers not on the platform, or in the Mother’s Room will:
-
Enter through the Community Service Room’s external door (by the parking lot)
- Allow their temperature taken immediately (Under 100-degrees is required to enter)
- Wear a mask that covers their nose and mouth at all times (No masks on chins…)
- Complete a short health survey
- Abide by the special seating in the sanctuary - 6 feet apart - which is clearly marked
-
Exit the sanctuary through the vestibule (Main entrance with four doors…)
- Remember that hand shaking, hugging, or kissing is inappropriate for the next few weeks
- Return tithes/offering online, or in a special no-touch dropbox
Parking
Parking areas will be designated so that vehicles are spaced 6 feet apart. Remember not to park right next to anyone’s vehicle: Treat all spaces as handicapped spaces.
Limited Capacity
The medical screening team will notify members/visitors when we have reached our capacity. No one will be admitted after that time. Thank you for understanding!
Additional Notes
- All live music will be instrumental and we will also have pre-recorded hymns and songs of praise. However, please do not sing in the sanctuary. The Illinois Department of Public Health says that the most common form of virus transmission is from the spread os droplets while singing (which is typically done with more volume and force than talking), because singing increases the distance that droplets can be spread. This is true even when wearing a face covering. So, it is better to err on the side of caution and refrain from singing during the early stages of our reopening.
- Please do not be surprised when these protocols are kindly enforced. Leviticus chapter 13 has a number of health precautions that were strictly enforced - nothing has changed. We believe in God, and we will protect our Sisters and Brothers from preventable illness.
- Virtual Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting, Sabbath School Classes, and Board Meetings will continue until further notice. In-person Sabbath School classes will NOT be reopened.
Thank you for your patience and prayers!
